The Council of Europe, the largest human rights organization in Europe, which is partially funded by the European Union, has withdrawn its publications in support of the freedom of women to wear the headscarf (hijab) in Europe
Their withdrawal of support is due to pressure from the French government and certain politicians to withdraw these publications
What a shameful act and a disgrace to countries and organizations that claim to support freedom and the human right to choose
I believe that it is the moral duty of anyone who claims he stands with freedom of choice to support the freedom of Muslim women in Europe, particularly France, to wear the headscarf anywhere they go whether it be school, the university, their workplace, or the street
